I am so very glad to be back to Spiritual Sundays. I missed everyone last week and well, if you haven't ever been a part of Spiritual Sundays PLEASE go
HERE and see all the wonderful reasons you would want to be a part of such a wonderful group of believers. As I shared in my post below I just finished reviewing "JESUS LIVES" by Sarah Young. A wonderful devotional. Here is one that clearly is speaking to me in this season of my life with all my "worrying" about my dad and the things that involves to me and my family right now.
WORRYCAST ALL YOUR ANXIETY ON ME Unless you deal with it properly, anxiety can be toxic ~ both to you and to others. Simply releasing it is not sufficient. You need to project it vigorously away from yourself, toward ME. Consider the following illustration: If you accidentally pulled the pin out of a hand grenade, you would not hold on to the grenade or drop it near your feet. Nor would you pitch it to another person. You would throw it as far away from yourself and others. When you
cast your anxiety on ME I remove it so far that it cannot harm anyone. IN FACT, I delight in doing this VERY THING, because I care for you so compassionately.
Ever since the Fall, human emotions have been out of kilter. People often "act out" painful feelings without even realizing what is bothering them. Or they may bottle up their emotions and pretend everything is all right. I urge you to be
self-controlledand
alert so you can identify hurtful feelings and confess them to me. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you with this. As you yield to HIS work within you, your anxious feelings will subside. My Spirit can accomplish holy changes within you- producing
Love,
Joy, Peace ---and
Self ControlCast all your anxiety on HIM because HE cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. 1 Pet 5:7-8
Shout for Joy, O heavens rejoice, O earth; bursting into song, O mountains! For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones. Isaiah 49:13
You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. Romans 8:9
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV

I'm glad you're back too, Loren. This is a great post. I love that we can cast all our cares on him because he alone can handle them.
Blessings to you my dear friend.
Charlotte
Thanks for sharing meaningful messages from God's word.
Loren, what a perfectly timed post! I struggle with worry and anxiety in my flesh. But it's good to be reminded that we have the Holy Spirit within. And when I rest in Him the fruit of the Spirit becomes evident to others.
I am praying for your dad. Thank you for your kind response back to me. I wish I could be by your side to provide comfort and answer any medical questions. But know that I'm an email away.
May the fruit of the Spirit be so evident in you and I pray that the Lord would provide godly nurses who will be with your dad and speak truth always.
Love and hugs,
Debbie
Thank you for sharing this awesome truth. For He does really care! And I'm so glad that our God is willing to take away the anxieties, all the worries from us. Have a blessed weekend sister Loren. Keeping you in prayers. Love you in Christ.
These verses are perfect. There are so many friends suffering and struggling right now. Joining you in prayer and blessed to be your friend.

I loved that post, Loren, thank you. I am taking a new stronger heart regulation medicine, and have to cast the worry on the Lord and trust Him to take care of me.
It is nice to meet you Loren.. I think I came over here from Edie's ...... I so love this post and we need even more today to cast our care over on the one that can carry it.......

Praying still for your Daddy's health unto salvation. Praying for you and your family.
Oh Loren as always you have touched my heart with the this timely post. He is the ONLY one who can handle our worries and cares. I will continue to pray for your dad. Have a good week. Blessings to you, Debbie
I am such a worrier...that is probably why God gave me the verse in 1 peter as my favorite...I love that verse. "casting all my cares upon Him because He cares for ME" The God of the Universe wants all my cares...blows me away.

I heard from Lisa that Doug has taken a turn for the worse - yet our God is able! I am praying much for him. Is there anything else I can do for you - for him? I'm praying for you too! I know [from experience] how hard this illness is on the rest of the family.
Great post here!
Keep in touch.......

This is a wonderful post and boy, did I need to hear it today! Worry and anxiety often take up residence and are unwelcome roommates! Especially liked the verse in Isaiah about shouting for joy!

Loren,
How can we not be comforted by these scriptures and your great detail on just how we need to cast our anxieties on Him. You've captured some of my all time favorites and they have brought me so much comfort this morning.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
Sweet Loren,
Your posting filled with scriptures are such a blessing to me. I have learned through many tears, heartache and pain that my worries, anxiety and fears...just everything needs to be cast over to Him for there is no other way I could get through the things that I do, that we all do.
You are such a special gift from God and I thank Him for you my sweet friend and sister. My prayers are being said for your day, you and your family.
I love you.

Loren, I am just catching up on my blog reading. I am so amazed that in this moment of struggles that you are encountering in your life, you find a way to bring encouragement. It is pretty wonderful though that in that I know you also encourage yourself. I know I have been there. :)
