Dear God, I can't find my......

I would venture to guess that just about everyone has lost something at some point in their life....Keys, shoes, glasses etc. When you lose an item such as these what do you do? Do you retrace your steps and hope to find the item that way? Do you ask a member of your household if they have seen the item? Do you PRAY and ask GOD to show you where the item is??

19 years ago I was a new believer. Something I experienced that proved to be HUGE in building my Faith was when I would lose something.....my keys, my purse, my glasses or dare I say it .... even a shoe ~ God would take me too the lost item

EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.

This has continued over the years and still to this day God takes me straight to it!

Wednesday proved to be another example of HIS Faithfulness and HIS care and concern even in the little things. We had planned on taking Jenna's prom dress to be altered. I was loading up the car with all the items she would be wearing and of course that would include some high heels. Because I haven't changed out my closets from Winter to Spring/Summer I had to do a little hunting for those particular shoes. I found one shoe right away but couldn't for the life of me find the matching shoe. I looked all over my closet, Jenna's closet, the mud room closet where we keep the "out of season clothes". I LOOKED EVERYWHERE!! I might add, I was on a tight schedule and didn't really have time to be hunting for one shoe! So I did what I always do when I can't find something ~ I prayed and asked God to show me where the shoes was.....

Not 30 seconds later did I find the matching shoe!!

It just NEVER ceases to AMAZE me and bring me SUCH JOY when the Lord does this!! Like a sweet kiss from HIM saying I Love YOU and care about you .... even this.

There have been times that I have shared with others how the Lord has shown me my "Lost" items before and some will say...


Oh gosh! How silly! I would never "BUG" God with such small details ~ OR ~

You seriously ask God to help you find your keys or a shoe? Like I am some weirdo or something LOL


You know what.... I do. I ask and HE shows. It encourages me soo much and has at times, turned my day around ~ from frantic to joy-filled! Just knowing the Lord heard me and cares that much..... WOW

What about you? Has you ever asked the Lord to show you where your keys are? Or even a lost shoe? Isn't it just awesome when HE does that!! :) If you haven't ever asked HIM before.... just know this! HE really does care and loves you enough to help you find what you are looking for! Even a lost shoe!

Mascara streamed down my face. I was an emotional wreck. Sitting at the gate I watched the plane pull out onto the tarmac. Earbuds in, I sobbed. The dam holding back my tears exploded.

Clearly, my emotions got the best of me. I watched a man I had just met board a plane and fly home to his family, as I was stranded overnight in the airport. My connection flight home had left right as my current flight landed, causing me to become stranded nine hours in the airport, waiting for my new flight.

I sat down in the food court to eat some dinner. Prayers spiraling up to heaven, my burdened heart unloaded. I needed to see God in this moment, especially since I am afraid of being in unknown places. Panic seized me. What if I was not safe?

A pilot sat down in the booth next to me. Eating his dinner he struck up a conversation. Since the news of my dreaded sleepover had not quite set in I was still numb to the situation. I shared with him my circumstances and asked him how long he had been flying. The conversation continued and there it was: a God moment.

The pilot told me that I was safe in the airport. He pointed out the security team and proceeded to talk about where I could sleep to remain safe, giving voice to exactly what I had prayed about! He continued to touch on things I had sent up to God in my prayers, out of fear. It was like this man could see my heart. We continued talking and I shared my heart for ministry. And then he told me he had been a pastor for ten years.

Smiling, the pilot got up to leave and said to me "I never sit in the food court. In my years of flying I have always eaten at the gate. We must have had a divine appointment. Rest tonight in the reality that you are safe with Him."

Jeremiah 29:13-14 says, "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart."

God is in the business of listening to and answering prayers, sometimes in ways that we least expect it. In a moment when I felt abandoned and alone, He was there.

Have you ever had a moment where you clearly saw God's faithfulness? Can you recall a time when He gave you "a God moment" to sustain you? I love that he is waiting. He is waiting to hear from you. I am convinced he loves to reveal Himself to His children. Wait and see.

Psalm 57:9-11
I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.
For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.

If you become weary of waiting for answers to your prayers, remember that I also wait: so that I may also be gracious to you and have mercy on you. I wait til you are ready to receive that things that I lovingly prepared for you. Blessed are those who wait for ME ~ expectantly, longingly, trustingly.
