The following is another story from the Devotional ~ Voices of the Faithful Book 2.....
The Rest of the Story
I know that all God does will last forever; there is no adding to it or taking from it. God works so that people will be in awe of HIM Ecc 3:14 (HCSB)
When "LIN" became a Christian, her outlook on life changed greatly as she found hope and strength to care for her elderly mother. She was anxious to share her faith with her family members, so we gave her a copy of a movie called
Good News to show her mother.
Watching the movie, the mother's eyes grew wide. She suddenly exclaimed, "I have heard this story before! When I was a very young girl, a foreigner came into our village and told us the story of the Most High God who created the heavens, the earth, and everything on the earth. He came back another time and told us about a flood that covered the entire earth."
Evidently a foreign missionary during the 1940's brought the Gospel story to her village, but then disappeared forever. The timetable of his visit coincided with the civil war, which resulted in foreigners being expelled from the country.
The elderly mother said, "But the foreigner never told me that God had a SON!" At last she had heard the rest of the story and immediately expressed her desire to follow Christ. After 75 years of waiting, this mother joyfully came to faith in Jesus.
Seeds sown by one of the faithful sprouted that day. He is faithful.

Yes, God is faithful and His Word is powerful. I am thankful for those who love Him and tell His Story to others. Before I became a Christian I remember hearing a sermon, A Way That's Right And Cannot Be Wrong. I am forever grateful for those who told me the good news about Jesus and the price He paid to bring about my salvation. Thank you for posting this good story.
This is a beautiful story and encourages me to keep sharing about Jesus, God's Son! Love you, dear Loren! Have a great weekend.
This is an amazing story! Surely God had a hand in this. Thanks for the encouragement to be constantly planting seeds. I did twice this past week - both with good responses. Need to do it everyday.
So inspiring.
You just never know what seeds we are instilling into some people that we meet, through our words, through our actions most specially...but it is God Who takes care of the rest. That's awesome despite the waiting, she came to know Christ in the end. Have a great weekend sister Loren. Hope you're feeling better by now, same with your dad, on the way to recovery. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and prayers...God bless and love to you.
Wow - what a fantastic story. And God knew all along that special moment would take place, doesn't that just blow you away? He is so awesome! :)
It's so nice to read story's like this. It does encourage me to try to sow more seed.
God Bless,
Ginger
Loren, this gets my mind spinning...to tell people about God and not about Jesus! Jesus is our faith...He IS the difference! I just never thought about leaving Him out of a conversation, but to someone that only knows of God can mean the difference between being lost or saved. Thank you for sharing this very important message!
God bless,
Mary
The seed was planted early with the missionary and then the daughter came alongside and watered that seed with the rest of GOD's word.
Isn't it amazing how GOD works?
Blessings and hugs, andrea
Oh I love this! I try to take every opportunity to plant seeds with people.....and I know that you are doing the same, sometimes without even knowing it!

Loren,
What a treasure from God this was today! Absolutely we are becoming farmers for the Lord every day through our actions and words to plant seeds and then pray for those people that God will touch their hearts and make them see that they need Him in their lives! It is such a joy and overwhelming love when you see first hand the harvesting of souls for God. Tears of unspeakable joy I tell you, rejoicing right up their with the angels in Heaven.
I watch the counter in hell go down one number and in Heaven the population just increased! Praise God!
