Spiritual Sundays ~ Fathers Day

What Makes a Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,

He called it ... Dad

~~Author Unknown.~~

As we all celebrate our Fathers this weekend, I am missing my Daddy. I have peace knowing that he is with our Heavenly Father, celebrating the Ultimate FATHERS day!! I am so thankful for all the years the Lord blessed me with my dad. As we prepared to say good-bye, The Lord blessed me with the gift of learning of my Daddy's Eternal home. In HIS Final hours and truly one of his final conversations, I learned of my Dads Salvation. So many of you all had prayed for this very moment. Just one of the MANY gifts from the Heart of my Heavenly Father ♥

I pray that those who may not have a good relationship with their earthly Father will come to know their Heavenly Father. For it is HIM and only HIM who loves you unconditionally. thinks of you continually and longs to show you what the true love of a Father is.

Please join us @ Spiritual Sundays and I pray you all have a blessed Fathers Day weekend

Wonderful thoughts here Loren. And as one who did not have a good relationship with my earthly dad, I am even more appreciative of the one I DO have with my heavenly Father. How much He loves me and cares for me is sometimes soo hard to even fully comprehend. Have a GOOD week-end with your family, and I pray the Lord floods your heart with all those wonderful memories of your daddy! HUGS, Debbie

Beautiful post Loren. Prayer works miracles. I was blessed by the father the Lord gave me. 11 years ago Father's Day he was in the hospital. I called but he could not hold the phone by himself. One blessed nurse told us to give her 10 minutes and then call back to his room. She ran down, held the phone for him so I could tell my dad Happy Father's Day and that he was my hero and I loved him. He passed away on the 28th of June. That was the last words we shared. Actually we were up to see him in March of that year. I had just had the CI the Oct before and he was very ill. I was sitting by his bedside praying and he opened his eyes and blinked and then his smile wide, said, "I love you, I love you, I love you" and for the first time in 13 years I heard my earthly father's voice. God is so good! Blessings.

Thinking of you this weekend Loren! I know it's always a difficult time when love ones are no longer with us on special days. I too appreciated what you said about getting to know are Heavenly Father. Thankful that we can have that relationship with God even here on earth.

I've been thinking of Loren, and I know you miss your daddy. He was a gem of a guy. And you were a wonderful daughter to him!

Love you,

Hi Loren,

Thank you for sharing a daughter's love for her dad, and how his life impacted you to trust in Christ. It is encouraging to know that if someone doesn't have a loving relationship with their earthly father, we can have an eternal one with our Heavenly Father.

I thank God for those men who lived, as well as those today who are living examples of what it means to live for Christ. Men who love God and family.

I pray for those men, women, and children whose lives were affected by men who didn't understand their true purpose as fathers. May our Heavenly Father bring healing and freedom into their lives, breaking the chain of family disfunction.

Blessings and peace.

The most awesome gift of all! I have several beloveds who have passed away without my knowing for sure and I'm praying they are safe in heaven to be blessed with again. But I am also so grateful that the ones closest to me I know are joining me in heaven. Praising God with you for your dad and his blessed salvation and your being blessed to know!

In the midst of being thankful for my daddy I don't want to fail to praise my Heavenly Father. Thanks for reminding me.

What a blessing to know your dad was saved. As far as I know my dad never accepted Christ as his savior. He was a good man but I wanted so badly for him to be a Christian.
Blessings,
Charlotte
