The Gift of Time
I spent the day Monday, with my Son. It was Precious time spent doing just some of the things we love. After attending his awards ceremony I took him out of school for the day, just to be together.....
We went out to lunch. We spent some of his gift cards that he got for Christmas! LOL Yes, you read that right....CHRISTMAS We listened to music, driving along with the windows down, enjoying the warm air and sunshine.
We talked, we laughed, and we acted silly! All 3 of my kids have very different personalities and I love it when I can spend that one on one time with them. To just enjoy them, time spent when you can just BE....
Thank you my sweet boy! For sharing the gift of You with me today. I love you so much! XOXO
What about you guys? What is your favorite thing to do one on one with your kids?

You are such a blessing and what a precious Mom you are to your children.
Aww...what fun! I love those one on one moments. I like to thrift store shop with my daughter. We always get a good laugh. I like to play Wii Sports with my 6 year old boy because we both get a bit competitive and that funny. I like to stare at my 8 year old as he tries to explain one of his many inventions to me. LOL!
Have a blessed day my friend.

What a sweet post...and a handsome son! It is fun spending time with them one-on-one, isn't it? Parker enjoys dining out, as restaurants are his "thing" and he's looking for just the right burger joint to use as his inspiration for someday opening his own restaurant. He loves to listen to music and of course, if I sat and played video games with him all day that would make me one "rockin' mom"! My little Faith loves to shop. She's become our little fashionista (just like her soon-to-graduate-from-high-school older cousin). My sweet little 7-year old enjoys "girl time" but she's not one of those "girlie girls". She is, as I have referred to her since she was a toddler, "the prettiest dressed one in the mud puddle."
Your post makes me want to run up to the school and pull my kids out for the day so I can spend time with each of them alone. I forget sometimes that it's important to do that...and not always spend all our time together. Thanks for the great reminder.
Have a peaceFULLYsimple day, my friend.

Awww, I love that you got to spend some quality time together, just Mother and Son! .....lovin' them socks too! :)
It's really difficult to explain what a gem of a guy my awesome grandson is. I don't know any other boys his age who would sit down & ask me questions about ME...how was your day Nanny, do you like your job Nanny, what was it like growing up Nanny....you know, those things that we all wish we would've asked our parents or grandparents & then never got around to. And Loren, you & Brian have raised him to be a caring, considerate young man & that is a wonderful gift (for ALL of us!!). So very glad that the 2 of you had a fun, carefree day together & that the memory of it will stay with you always. Love you, Mom XXOO
Oh My---I'd give a million dollars to get to spend some time NOW with all 3 of my sons, individually or together. I had a day with one of them this past Sunday and it was incredible..... My advice: spend as much time with your kids as you can. They do grow up so very very fast.
Hugs,
Betsy
I think you and your son gave each other a very precious gift. When my children were younger we would go hiking together. I would love to be able to do that with them again. I'm glad you had such a great day.
Out of school just to be together... how special! I am sure that is a memory that he will treasure. Sounds like a perfect day! ♥
Awesome post Loren, and it was awesome reading the comments from your Mom!
I relate to you and your relationships with your kids so much!
I love being with each of mine, too. I like just walking with any of them. I love just being with each of them, and with my 2 precious grandkids.
He is SO cute. :) So glad you had that time together.
My girl & I love our Barnes & Noble trips together. My boy and I love to lay in bed each morning and LAUGH and cuddle.
We'll be over for lunch today at 12:30.
Wouldn't that be nice?
What a good looking kid he is! Glad you take time to just enjoy your kids. =)
