You know how I told you all that our Highschool Football Team won last week after 5 Overtimes?? Well, that was the 1st Playoff game. This past Friday, the Football Team, Trainers, Managers, Pom Squad, Cheerleaders and Coaches loaded into the Charter Buses and drove the 2 hours for the 2nd Playoff round. I have to be honest and tell you all I was literally PRAYING we would NOT win! WHY? Well, because if we won it meant that we would play yet another playoff game THIS WEEK! The Week of Thanksgiving!
Well, guess what?!?! We won 16-6. Before the game began I asked my husband "What are we going to do if we win??" He said, "Honey, don't worry we haven't made it this far in over 20 years!" Ah yi yi! So we have had to cancel our trip with my Mom and Stepdad! We are soo upset. We always look so forward to getting away and going to Branson, spending a few days in a cabin, relaxing and just being with one another! We always have sooo much fun!
The football team is practicing everyday this week :( EVEN ON THANKSGIVING!! We are thrilled for the kids and know this is sooo exciting for our town and the team! Especially the Seniors! They will remember this for years to come!! The sad thing is, the chance of us winning is pretty slim! We are playing an undefeated team and they are known for their amazing football team! We have played them once this year and they KILLED us!
I am choosing to be Thankful regardless of this change in plans!
I noticed today that so many of my FB friends were talking about SNOW where they lived! WOW! Snow already??
It was in the 70's here BUT it's suppose to be only in the 40's by Thurs. So we all worked outside gathering wood and lots of kindling so when the cold weather gets here...We ARE READY :) I just LOVE a fire in the fireplace! It was so nice to work together outside :)
Tyson and Maggie didn't know what to think of the Chainsaw LOL
Jantz decided to climb a tree and well.....he got stuck haha! I said "Wait, I gotta take a pic for my blog!" ;)
My honey cutting limbs from the house! They hit the windows all the time and the kids hate it!
Here is just one stack of the wood! We will use this quickly! Last year we went through about 2 1/2 ricks of wood!
What did you do this weekend? I pray you have a blessed Monday ♥

Oh, I hate the sound of tree limbs scraping the windows! It's so creepy!!! Yay for Mr. McGhee for getting out there and cutting them down!!! lol
I'm so bummed for you guys. It just seems wrong to be doing anything during Thanksgiving, especially football. It's a blessing and a curse it seems huh?
Well I hope you manage to have a good time no matter what and I really hope that a miracle occurs and they WIN. That way it wouldn't seem so bad.
Is it wrong that I wanted to come through your picture and kiss that boxer's face? LOL!
Have a fantastic day today my sweet friend.

We're among those who've been visited by winter already. A light snowfall began yesterday; and temperatures have plummeted to 30/20. That's cold, especially by Pacific NW standards!
In the run-up to Thanksgiving, we're spending time with family and friends, dreaming of yummies, and enjoying life immensely. So, so much to be grateful for ....
Grateful for you, too. A blessed Thanksgiving to you and yours!

I remember a few canceled plans and different holidays as a result of sports. In fact 3 years in a row my daughter's travel softball team participated in a Toy's for Tots tournament and we actually played ON Thanksgiving day. I remember getting up and getting our turkey into the over and hurrying over to the ball field for a couple of games. The first time we did it I grumbled from beginning to end. By the 3rd one I had a system down and realized the girls were all soo enjoying themselves and making memories that will never be forgotten and learning to give back as they all planned and talked about what they were bringing for the kids. We were the only Christians on that team. And looking back now I also remember how many times the other girls asked Mel to pray before games or when someone was hurt etc. And that last Thanksgiving we played morning was one of them. Congratulations to your team, and hopefully it will be a GOOD game. I am sorry you are missing your trip. It is soo cold here this morning and we can't get our pilot light lit on the furnace...praise God for thick warm robes. Sorry for the long comment. Have a good day. HUGS
I hope that y'all have a great week in spite of all the busy times comin! God is so good and He is there with us in all things.
That is for sure a tough situation to be in Lauren, but if there is one person that can turn her train of thought to positive...it is YOU. I was thinking of you the other day and how you are always such a positive person and always looking at the bright side. Something I need practice at.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving if I don't get back around.
It is -34 here today Lauren, I poked my nose outside to get my newspaper and my is it cold...I am by the fire as I type.
we are also covered in snow and it will be here come next Spring as it will never be warm enough to melt. It is suppose to warm up to -9 on the weekend which will be a nice break and I will be able to go outside to church and grocery shopping. Hope you are feeling well.....Hugs
So stinks that you had to cancel your trip!! We will definitely be rooting for Owasso even though we live in Jenks!!
I totally hate limbs hitting the windows, thank the Lord for Brian removing those!! Too spooky for me!!
So glad we got to have coffee/lunch today.
Love you
Aw, shoot. I know you'll end up having a wonderful time, though, even if it's not doing what you really wanted to do...they sure better WIN. :) Kidding. heehee
That picture of Jantz is HILARIOUS. He's a good sport for sure.
I'll try to send some of my cold weather your way so you can get that fire you're wanting. Love you. :)
That is such a bummer that you had to cancel your fun trip! But I am sure the kids are SO excited for how well the team is doing. :) The weather finally turned COLD here... no snow yet. But the cold sure came later than normal this year!!
Love,
Jennifer
Your Hubby and mine would get along great. He loves nothing more than getting out in the yard with his chainsaw and he has that same saw contraption. He's cutting palm tree fronds, but still. Bummer about your plans changing, but how exciting for the team. Hope they WIN!!!
You go through almost as much firewood as we do -- we normally go through from 3 to 3½ ricks during the winter. Unfortunately, we can't get it from our own property.
I'm sorry to hear about your change in plans, but I know that the kids are really excited.
