Monday's Musings

Oh my gosh Ya'll....I feel OLD! Literally, every muscle in my body HURTS!! Why???? What did I do? Well. Let's see.....

Friday, Mom came over and took the kids and I to one of the CUTEST places EVER! It's called the Pecan Porch. It's an old country house/cottage they made into a resaurant. Beautiful plants are everywhere, they even have an old squeaky screen door. Such character and charm. I will have to take pics next time we go.

Saturday my honey & I subbed in our neighbors card group. They play "Pitch". I have never played before and thought we were going to play "Spades" :) Ha. Not spades but similar, I guess. We had a great time, lots of laughter and met some really sweet people. I used to play bunco with a group once a month but haven't done that in forever so it was nice to be a "sub" and learn a new game!

Sunday.... yep. this is the day in which my body decided it was about 100 years old! LOL We decided to put in an electrical fence in our yard. Because our yard has ROCKS just about everywhere and digging to far down is just about impossible, having a split rail fence or any other kind for that matter is financially just about insane! Not to mention, we really don't want to put a fence up. But if we did, we would have to dynamite or jackhammer for days so we say NOOOO. Anyway, for the electric fence you have to bury the line and because we don't want the dogs to go in the front yard and mess up all our new landscaping we had to not only do one full circle around the back yard we had to make a U shape so that the electric line won't go along the back door and shock the dogs. So that meant being on your hands and knees burying a wire ON AN ACRE LOT!!!
OH EM GEEE..... CAN YOU SAY SORE MUSCLES, ACHING BACK, TENDER HANDS AND FINGERS... :)

ok, I will quit wining now :)

I was so thankful the Lord brought us a bit of rain in the wee hours because it sure made working with the dirt so much easier!
Now we just have to do the final connect and then we can begin training the dogs. That will have to wait a bit because my Honey is going out of town this week. Would you all mind saying a prayer for traveling mercies for him and his trip :) Thank you so much!

We are also trying to get in with a specific neurologist for Jantzen. The one our DR. referred us to didn't have the best of reviews so we did some research on our own and also have a friend who has seen this Dr. that we hope to get in with. So anyway, pray the Lord will open the doors for us :) I will not be making any appointments this week since Brian will be gone, but hopefully next week. Jantzen has been feeling much better in the past few days. He doesn't feel so weak anymore and the dizzy spells seem to be lessening :) Thank you all so much for your prayers!!

So tell me, How was your weekend?

You poor thing. I can't even imagine doing that. UGH! It think even a youngin' would be hurting so don't think it's your age sister friend. LOL!
As least the rest of your week was fun. Ha! Ha!
I hope you have a super duper relaxing week this week.

I love the Pecan Porch! Isn't it the best! I wish I could get over there more often!

Still sending all my love and prayers out for Jantzen. Keep us posted!

You DID have a busy weekend! So happy to hear that Jantzen is feeling better. Praying you can get into the doctor you want to see. Take it from a mom who has been in a LOT of doctor's offices...be persistent. YOU are your child's best advocate. Listen to your instincts...they are usually right on. And don't be afraid to question...the doctors are there for you...not you for them. There...I'm off my soapbox now.
Hey...could you let me know how the invisible fence and training works for you? We are considering this in the future and I'd like to hear from someone I know what your thoughts are on it and how easy it is to train the dogs.
Hope your body eases up on you today after all your hard work. I think I'm off to the chiropractor today, as I, too, feel as though I'm a hundred years old!
Peace and blessings to your day, friend!

You have a good right to feel the aches and pains of your weekend work. Whew! That is a lot. Are you still having the high temps of last week. I believe your state was included in those temps in the 90's. Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving such a caring comment. Strange how your post for SS was about how quick do we obey? I knew the Lord asked me to post that long post for the first time on SS and because without a doubt I knew His voice, I just typed it, submit it and then looked at the lenght, smiled and said, "Yikes, sure glad the Lord is in this, HE made me do it"! Next Sunday I will do a short, simple one for sure. Have a blessed week. I need to read back on your blog to more about Jantzen so I am a brand new follower since yesterday.

Hi sweetie, Firstly I'm so sorry you are so sore!! When we lived in Ca. our home sat on bedrock so I totally understand how difficult it is. I will be praying for your hubby's trip as well as the perfect doctor for Jantzen.
We rode 12 miles yesterday on bike-talk about being tired. You have to remind me of what type of dogs you have? We've played bunco and also love playing dice and other games. Wish we could play together.
Hugs coming to you. Noreen

"Old" is an apt description for me today, too. I did way too much lifting & stretching this weekend, which means my osteo-arthritis is screaming at me today. So you have my complete sympathy.

That said, isn't it a good feeling to work hard and see results?

Now, if we could just figure out some way to get the results with the body protesting :)
