I've heard it said that we can "JUDGE" how close our relationship is to God by how QUICKLY we listen to HIS voice....and respond/obey to what HE says to do ~
Do we respond immediately?
Or do we get "around to what HE said to do"
or worse...
Do we listen to HIM and then ignore HIS Voice all together?
Where are you?
I would venture to say we all have those seasons where we fail miserably. We may claim we can't hear or that HE seems so far away. If we are honest, we would know the truth....our Father NEVER leaves us. It is us who strays.
Of course we have times of great Passion, totally On Fire for Christ when we are so close we wouldn't dream of not obeying right away.....
May we be quick to remember to stay close, on fire, seeking HIM ~ ALL OF HIM.
Romans 12:1-3 The Message tells us....
So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
I'm speaking to you out of deep gratitude for all that God has given me, and especially as I have responsibilities in relation to you. Living then, as every one of you does, in pure grace, it's important that you not misinterpret yourselves as people who are bringing this goodness to God. No, God brings it all to you. The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him.

Ilove you, saying prayers for you. This is shortybear.
I really like this post. It speaks to me because even though there are times I feel on fire for the Lord, there are other times I take Him for granted and don't respond to His direction right away. I like your suggestion and I will concentrate more on what He tells me to do and respond adequately. Thank you.
Good questions for me to ask myself. I'm afraid that too many times I'm not listening at all. That needs to change.
Blessings,
Charlotte
great word here Loren - thank you for your willingness to speak truth to all of us!
i finished 'wierd' and it was just so good! i would love to hear Craig speak. does he have tapes that i could buy?
Continuing to pray for Jantzen and for each of you. Mildred
We all fall short, I among others. Yet when we listen so much can happen...we can bless others by a phone call,(hey ring ---- and see how they are) we can even save a life (rest and sleep, you are too tired to drive). How many times do we ignore that small voice within?? God is always with us, yet we are often only with ourselves.
I agree that sometimes I'm just no paying attention to God's voice. I love that "God brings out the best in you (Me!)."
Listening,
Pamela
I think that the more I read his word the more open I am to listen to him.
God Bless,

great message. Hope your weekend is going great.
Beautiful message of Truth. As you read my post for today you will see why I feel blessed with my gift 25 yrs ago....since then, hearing with people/things will never be a "given" again. With the Lord, I have always heard HIS voice and you are so right, HE truly brings out the best in each of us. May your week be blessed.
Such a powerful post and a great reminder for us all.
"it's important that you not misinterpret yourselves as people who are bringing this goodness to God. No, God brings it all to you."
So often in this world we forget that God is our provider and we all forget from time to time to simply listen. - Thank you for sharing.
Blessings,
Misty
