Thankfulness can...

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be
thankful. Col3:15

Thankfulness can change our whole perspective at times!

Thankfulness can speak straight to the heart of someone who otherwise goes unappreciated.

Thankfulness can bring you to a place of humility.

Thankfulness can change even the coldest of hearts and minds!

Thankfulness can even be delayed due to what looks like an unanswered prayer but is actually revealing Gods perfect plan and will for your situation.

How do you see Thankfulness?

Randomness on this Wednesday

** Well, I can FINALLY share with you all the really cool GIFT I was able to give my Momma and our Daughter, Krista on Mothers Day!

I have a MacBook Pro and one day I was taking a class at the Apple Store to learn more about using my Mac. Apple is just awesome at all they offer for their education on any of their products! Well, anyway the gentleman who was educating me showed me these books that you can make on our Macs. My oh so funny husband said immediately to the guy "Wait, don't say another word ~ I am afraid you are going to cost me alot of money!!" He knows me so well! LOL. You simply upload your pics and then you can preview the actual book and then place your order. Well, how easy is that??? I am soooo NOT a Scrapbooker but THIS! THIS ~ EVEN.I.CAN.DO!!! ;) If you have a Mac and are interested in finding out more Go here to check it out :) I did mess up my moms the first time I placed the order and just received it on Monday and was able to give it to her! She cried upon receiving and looking at it! That is HUGE!!!

** I sooo enjoyed swimming with My friend Angel from All the Mus last week! We have been in the upper 90's and will be staying there for awhile and that is just a bit tooo hot already! Thank you Angel for sharing the day with us :) We all loved it! My sweet Rylee took a little nap on me :) Angel and I said we should have taken a pic together BEFORE we got into the pool....next time we will! PROMISE!

Krista has been experiencing alot of nausea but she is vacationing in florida this week so hopefully that will cause her not to think of it so much ;) I have missed my Rylee so much this week! Spiritual Sundays ~ Listening to HIS voice

Thank you Charlotte and Ginger for hosting SS! Go here if you want to be blessed or would like to join in :)

Earlier this week I shared about how the Lord had me awake for about 3 nights in a row really sharing some things in regards to our family and specifically our kids. Finally, after the 3rd day I woke up the kids that morning and asked them to grab their Bibles and meet me downstairs. The Lord had given me specific Scriptures and how they applied to each child and where they are right now spiritually.

As we gathered together I first prayed and asked the Lord to allow His words to go forth and for me to interpret HIS message exactly as HE desired. I shared with the kids something I had remembered from years ago. When our kids were very little, we had a friend whose teenage son was killed in a car accident. In his grief, the Father shared with us "I taught my son so many things about the way of the world, but I never shared the Spiritual ways." In their sons death they looked to the Lord and grew ever so close to Him instead of being mad or resentful. This has ALWAYS stayed with me! Anyway, as I began to share the Scripture & message for both of them I could see on their faces that their spirits were in agreement with what the Lord was sharing in me. I asked both of them if this was in fact true, and they both agreed it was.

For my daughter it was 1 cor 10:23
You say, “I am allowed to do anything" but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial.

I shared with her how the Lord showed me a buffet table and that, as she is entering this new season of her life (turning 18 and making adult decisions, college, etc) that truly the path for her future is wide open! She can literally do anything but that just as you walk into a buffet, everything is available to eat, but not all of it is good for you. BUT what the Lord really was saying was this.....While she is allowed to do anything, it isn't all beneficial. What HE really is asking from her is for her to DISCERN "what" is beneficial. HE shared that the Holy Spirit really wanted to take her to a new level and to really exercise that discerning spirit.

She said she immediately knew this was right on and confirmed some things she had been hearing as well! Thank you Lord!

I know the Lord longs to share specifics with us and HE will even wake us up in the middle of the night to speak to us. Sometimes it is the quiet of just reading the Word or in Prayer. He chooses many different ways to speak, but the important thing is that we listen!

Are you listening? Are you sharing those things HE is speaking to you? Are you being obedient to what HE is asking? I have been guilty at times or even too tired some nights when HE wakes me up and I will roll over and go back to sleep! I HATE it when I do this! I am soooo thankful for HIS grace and forgiveness! For HIS mercy that in my rebellion HE waits and when I repent HE shares HIS heart and plans at another time! Thank you Father!

I pray everyone has a blessed weekend!

Get your Kicks on Route 66

When I was a little girl my great grand-parents home was a MAGICAL Wonderful place to visit! They were the most kind loving people and even until they were well into their 70's they still went dancing every Friday night in Waco Missouri. Their names were Mama Fay and Floyd and I loved them dearly. They had a game room that had a pool table, pinball machine, and a Pop Bottle machine! I can remember all the wonderful varieties of Pop that we could choose from so when we found out that their was a restaurant near us that carried Old Time Pop in their original bottles ~ WE.HAD.TO.GO!

We loaded up the kids and headed to Arcadia Ok which is only 1 1/2 hours away from us and found the drive on Route 66 to be quite charming! Some businesses have gone out of business and stand deserted while others are still doing well and restoring their original look. But when you drive up to POPS their is absolutely NO MISTAKING it! The soda bottle complete with a straw stands 66ft. tall and at night it is lit up for all the world to see! The parking lot was jammed full of people and the license plates were from all over! Texas, Iowa, Missouri and the Bikers ....OH MY! There were tons of them!

Pops is so unique and we enjoyed seeing all the different varieties and for me it was so neat to have memories of my Mama Fay and Floyds house flood my mind and my pallet as I was able to drink a "Nu Grape" Grape Soda ♥ This pop along with many others were always stocked full in my Papa Floyds pop machine.

Here are a few pics from our Family Day and the trip we shared down Route 66 to POPS

Me and my sweet girl! ♥

Took this pic for you Kim :)

Love Potion #69! LOL

Doesn't this look sooo yummy! They were out of this in their massive refrigerator :(

This was the view from our table during lunch! This stand is unlike any you will find! All the bottles are glued down thank goodness :) No fear of them toppling off onto your head :)

These are the 6 pack boxes that people come in hoards and filled up with their choices of bottled pop @ $2 a bottle! and YES we did bring home a 6 pack of our own!

Original Dr. Pepper when they still used cane sugar instead of High Fructose Corn Syrup!

Please hop over here to my book Blog for the latest review! Texas Roads by Cathy Bryant. YOU.WILL.LOVE.IT!

Hope you all enjoyed seeing just a few of the pops they offered! Have a blessed Tuesday my friends!

Memorial Day Thanks

So Thankful for all those who have served for our Freedom. So thankful to them and their families for all they have sacrificed for us!

- Kelly Strong
I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
and then he stood at ease.
I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers' tears?
How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.

I heard the sound of TAPS one night,
When everything was still
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That TAPS had meant "Amen,"
When a flag had draped a coffin
Of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.
I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.
