Welcome H♥ME

Hello My Dear Bloggie Friends! I have to be honest... Life got CRAZY as soon as my Honey left again! Most nights I didn't even sit down until after 11p.m., let alone pick up my computer to blog or be able to go & visit any of you guys! BUT, I am soooo HAPPY to say that the 3 weeks he was to be gone is FINALLY OVERRRRRRRR!!!!!! PRAISE. THE. LORD!

I had this on my table to welcome both Brian & Jenna home ♥

It was wonderful working out in the yard together again! I had started a Flowerbed while he was away and we were able to get it completed on Sunday evening! It looks sooo AWESOME and turned out to be HUGE!!! I will take pics and show you sometime this week! When I read the forecast on Saturday morning, I could not believe my eyes! It read "RECORD HIGH" OF 92. How many days in a row last year did we have those two words in them???? PLUS, it is only May and we are already in the 90's???? YIKES Y'ALL!! I'm happy to report that a cold front is headed our way and bringing the temps in the 70's this week :) Now that I can handle!! :)

Here are some of the flowers I have in a few of my beds! I haven't ever seen any like these before and I just fell in LOVE with them!

We got Jenna moved back home for the Summer! She and I packed up her stuff @ OSU, loaded it in our cars and headed for HOME!! I am still just in awe that her 1st year as a freshman in college is ALREADY OVER!! Seriously this was the fastest school year EVER! She is so glad to be home (and SO AM I!!!!!!). She will be working 2 jobs this summer and saving up for her new apartment this fall!

My Son only has 2 weeks and 2 days left of school! It is so weird having one child at home and out of school and another one still in school. One day after school he asked me if he and I could go to the shooting academy! Somehow, I agreed to this???? It must have been a moment when my brain was asleep or maybe it was temporarily insane! LOL Anyway,
I went and much to my surprise, I really did have fun! I learned a lot and dare I say, I will go back! In fact, a girlfriend of mine and I signed up for a ladies only beginners gun class! I am looking forward to it for sure!

This is Jantz & I @ the shooting range :)

My sweet Rylee came and spent the night with us last night! It is such a treat when we can get her one on one! WE will do the same with Bentley but last night was her special night! We will all be together tonight having a big Spaghetti and Meatball dinner! It is definitely one of our favorites! I am going to also make some bruschetta! The best thing about this bruschetta is that I can go out on my back porch and pick the basil FRESH! IT IS SOOO YUMMY!

Here is my girl! She LOVES working with NoNi in my flowerbeds! and you all know, I just

LOVE her being there! She is such a tough little girl! She will do whatever- dig in the dirt, move mulch around, and she is NOT afraid of bugs in the least!!

Well you guys, I hope your week is blessed! Thanks so much for bearing with me! Love you ALL!

He's BACK!!!

SURPRISE!!!

Yesterday I had a wonderful day! Put in another flowerbed. I am getting really good at working that shovel ;)

Around Noon my Mom came over and we made some lunch and sat outside to eat. It was just gorgeous! Then I cut her hair and shortly after that my Son got home from school. (Another Mom and I take turns picking up the kids and yesterday was my day off) My Mom will be going out of town to see some of her high school friends! They haven't seen each other in YEARS and I'm sure you can guess what in the world brought them back in touch with one another.... YEP, FACEBOOK!
Anyway, she is so excited and wanted to go to one of our very favorite places to shop- the Gypsy Rose! It is an AWESOME
little boutique! I got some cute flip flops :) As I am paying for them, I get a text from my Honey. It reads....

I will be home around 8pm.

WAIT?? WHAT??? You will be HOME??? OUR HOME??? Are you messing with me or are you really, really SERIOUS?

He was Serious! He arrived just shortly after 7 and will be here for less than 24 hours BUT ....HE"S HOME!!
So if you don't mind I am going to go enjoy my husband :)

Hope you all are having an awesome week!

A Family time Question!??

There is nothing like Family time is there!! I've found myself reflecting quite a bit lately. Maybe it's because my baby will be headed for high school and will be driving in less than a year. I know you hear all the time, but time just flies by! What I wouldn't give to slowwwww things down!! One thing we have enjoyed so much as a family is asking

"What was your high today? and What was your Low?"

This is a game (per se') my kids Love to play, especially Jantzen, my inquisitive child :)

It makes for great dinner conversation!! Make sure that the adults share as well! You can also choose to ask when you are tucking the kids in. Choosing Bedtime allows you to take the question and more importantly, the answer, to another level. Prayer. Teaching our children to lay their "lows" at the foot of the cross and trusting that Jesus has heard you and is working it out is definitely "teaching your child in the way he/she should go!!"

It is something that works for every single age! Plus, if your kids have a friend over they can join in as well!!

You know when you ask your kids, "How was school?" response "Good." "What did you learn at school today?" response "same as yesterday" We learn nada. zip-zilch!

But when you ask for highs and lows, you get a very thought provoking answer every time!

What about you guys? What has been one of your family games or ways to get more communication going within your family??

It's Friday

Just wanted to pop in and tell everyone that I hope you all have a great and very blessed weekend!

I found out yesterday that my Honey won't be able to come home this weekend as originally planned. There are people who flew in to town specifically to help set up this new store, so it wouldn't be good if he took the weekend off, don't ya know :)
I am PRAYING for all of them and also that this weekend will be the ONLY weekend he be able to come home.

Enjoy your honey's, snuggle your sweet kiddos, and love on your animals, be kind to those around you, and most importantly let all you do bring Glory to the Lord! You are HIS Warrior, the apple of HIS eye!

Love you all my friends
XOXO

Everything's Coming Up Roses

Happy Wednesday - This week is going sooo slow. I know it is because my honey is gone. You know when you miss someone and it seems like everywhere you go you see a look alike car/truck, or maybe smell their cologne. OMG, for me, I have seen my husbands truck everywhere! It's like all drivers of a white chevy silverado truck were told to teleport straight to my location! LOL

I am still going to the gym and loving it. We will be doing another Weightloss Challenge beginning May 1st and go til the 31st. Maybe I can get this remaining 14 lbs. GONE!! Now that Spring is here, I am right back into the schedule of going to the gym and immediately when I get home I go outside and water my flowers and deadhead all of the ones that need it. I have been planting quite a bit as well. We have had so much rain these past few weeks and of course the trees, flowers, and roses are all just LOVING it!! :) So, when I walked to the front of my house, yesterday after workout, I was JUST AMAZED at all the blooms!! I knew I just HAD to share them with you guys!

Can you tell I like my sign ?? heehee :)

All of our Roses are Double knock out roses! I just Love them! I purchased two white ones a couple of weeks ago but they are still so small compared to these so I didn't take a pic of them BUT, I really think they will end up being my favorite!! The white roses are just STUNNING!!!!

The BIG 5-0 is almost here!

Good Monday Morning everyone :) How was your weekend? I hope it was ♥wonderful and blessed♥

I shared with you all on Friday that I was planning some Surprises for my husbands upcoming 50th Birthday! (♥It also happens to be one of our dear bloggy friends birthday that same day as well "Happy Birthday Darcie!! Love you my dear friend!!♥)

Years ago, my husband and I learned soooo much about our personalities, our love language(s), and just overall communication! I have learned very clearly that my husband does NOT like surprises. Well, to clarify "surprises"
I mean in the party manner. Sooooo, when I asked my honey what he wanted to do for his Birthday, he said, "NOTHING!"
Well, he knows there is NO WAY I was going to do "NOTHING" BUT, I translated that to mean that He wanted a low key weekend with his family and absolutely no surprise parties of any kind!

For Friday night, I made a reservation at a Fabulous Hotel downtown. I was able to get a GREAT package that allowed us to stay in the SUITE!!! and boy oh boy, it was.... ssssuuuuuuuwwweeeeeetttt! I texted my husband and told him that when he left work he was to come to ... and I gave him the address to the Hotel. When he arrived I had a warm bath waiting on him so he could begin to relax and then I gave him a massage. Now, now, now....really, just a massage! :)

We had dinner reservations @ 7:30. OH. MY. GAW! You guys, our meal was the MOST AMAZING MEAL I have EVER had in my whole life! Now, I am a very picky eater and when it comes to trying something new, well, I just don't. BUT on this night, guess what! I DID! and I am sooooo happy I did. Our meal started with a Spring Mix Salad w/honey & berry vinaigrette. I guess I should tell you guys I am really NOT a salad eater either. But OH MY! It was Fabulous! Our Entree' was Pan Seared Sole, with orange-mango risotto, and grilled asparagus. For desert we had...Get this.... Sea Salt and Caramel Gelato. Now this has to be the most unique desert I can say I've ever had. When you first tasted it, it was salty and then after a few seconds the sweet caramel would come through. WOW. JUST WOW!!. The awesome thing was that even though we cleaned our plates. (No, I didn't lick it clean but trust me, if I could have without being seen, I soooo would have!!!! LOL) we didn't have that horrible full feeling or bloated. Nope, not at all! When we went upstairs it started storming. We were able to fall asleep listening to the rain and the thunder rolling! It was a perfect night, a fabulous way to end our day.

On Saturday we spent the day together all the while My Mom was preparing a Surprise Dinner for him with all of our kids and grandkids there. It was a very relaxing day and weekend, and my husband couldn't have been happier or anymore thankful!

He won't turn the BIG 5-0 until Tuesday and sadly, he will be out of town. :( He will actually be out of town ALOT over the next few weeks....sniff sniff. But I am so glad he will leave having had a relaxing and joyful weekend with his family around him - just the way he likes it!

Here are some of the pics from this weekend

Our yummy dinner

Happy Birthday Honey! I Love you sooo very much!

A Funny for your Friday

Holy Smokes this week has absolutely FLOWN BY!! I am sooo excited :) You want to know WHY???? Well....my Honey is going to turn the BIG 50 next Tuesday but he is going to have to be out of town ;>( so we are going to celebrate this weekend!!! I have a few surprises for him beginning tomorrow.... I can't wait to share them with you guys!!

Anyway, this past week One of my Son's homework assignments was to write a poem. Have you ever heard of an Elegy? The definition is:

a mournful or plaintive poem or song, esp a lament for the dead

It is not to be confused with a Eulogy. Well, his teacher had a few rules for this Elegy. It had to be humorous, with a play on words per se', and it had to be about someone fictional. When he was sharing all of this with me, he said,
"Mom, I have an example of what she is wanting!" Ok, so.... I absolutely had to share this with you guys! To say I have had some laugh til you cry moments when reading this elegy to someone is an absolute understatement! Here is the poem...

It is with the saddest heart that I must pass on the following news.

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of
a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including
Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch.
The grave site was piled high with flours. Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered to be a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he was still a crusty old man and was considered a roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife, Play Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough, plus they had one in the oven!
He is also survived by his elderly dad, Pop Tart. The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

I would highly recommend reading this out loud and if you feel so inclined, you may wish to read with some form of accent...If you need a good laugh- this should do the trick!

I hope you all have a blessed weekend and a Happy Friday! I will be taking lots of pics this weekend and looking forward to telling you all about the next few days ahead of us :)

Easter

So, how are you guys? Did everyone have a Wonderful Resurrection Day and weekend?? We sure did!

The weekend started out a little early for Jenna. She called us from college on Thursday night asking if she could come home. She sounded AWFUL and felt even worse! We got her home and loved on her. Took her to the Dr. on Friday and she got a steroid shot, antibiotics, and a strong drug that he explained was like Mucinex on steroids LOL along with some cough medicine that will help her sleep. She didn't improve much before she went home, doggone it! She only has 24 days till Summer begins for her!!!

Friday night we were able to attend our Easter Service. It was sooo good! I shared with you all that our Church opened the doors to our new campus. On Easter weekend they offered 9 services! We went Friday evening and was THRILLED to see it was a full auditorium! All of us rejoicing our Risen Savior!

Saturday my Honey & I spent the day preparing for our family to come over for Easter Dinner. It was a wonderful day and we had a good time working side by side one another. I was so excited for my Mom to see the new Island centerpiece we found! So on Sunday when I got a phone call from my Stepdad letting us know that my Mom had been sick all night long and that they would not be coming I was soooo sad! Sad for her! The nasty ol' stomach bug got a hold of her BAD!!
(She is feeling better now, Praise the Lord!) We had all our kids home, our grandkids too! My brothers girlfriend and her Son and girlfriend also came. My brother is a Fire Chief and was on duty so he wasn't able to be there.
They were all soooo missed and it DEFINITELY wasn't the same without my Momma there! Goodness gracious, not the same at all!

We had drip beef sandwiches and pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, and chips&dip. IT WAS SOOOO DELICIOUS! Everything was made from scratch! For desert we had angel food cake and strawberries! What's better than having your family all together and celebrating Jesus? NOTHING!! :)

Here are some pics of our day:

He lives Indeed!

This is our new Island Centerpiece Brian & I found! The pics don't do it justice though! We LOVE IT!!

Rylee hunting her eggs! She had a BLAST and LOVED finding them :) Look at her face!! So funny!

My Beautiful Girls

Sweetest Kids ♥

PaPa made sure Bentley got this bat in his Easter basket. NoNi told PaPa during this particular shopping trip that he would probably be doing some damage with that bat, but did PaPa listen??? Nope, and guess who got the bat whacked over and over LOLOLOL I don't think he minded AT ALL, do you?? ;)

Ok, so we had a little visitor. I hear some squealing and some shouting so all of us inside ran outside. The "boys" were all out back looking under a rock. This usually means I better make a run for it because I don't like slimy, slithery things, or long hairy legs and definitely not anything in the reptile family! So can you guess what Casey pulled out from under this rock???

This LIZARD! He was NOT a Happy Camper either!! He was whipping himself in every direction trying to get out of Casey's grasp. He really was a pretty thing but not pretty enough for me to hold! LOL The grandkids loved it and well, SO DID MY DOGS!! It ended up getting out of Casey's hand and my Boxer jumped on that lizard sooo stinkin fast! Luckily, Casey was just as quick and was able to pick him back up and take him back to the back of the yard where he was safe!

It didn't take long after everyone had left for these two to fall asleep! We were all tuckered out!

How was your Easter??

What Did You Say???

When I was younger and my parents divorced, my brother and I went back & forth from Moms to Dads and back again. One thing I always LOVED regardless of whose house I was at, was how both of my parents LOVED Music.

When I was with my Mom, she and I would "clean" the house, the radio would be playing loudly, and we could be found dancing away while dusting and scrubbing. :) Mom has always reminded me, "have fun Honey!" even if I was cleaning :) My mom loves to dance and now she doesn't dance with just me but you put her in a room with the music turned up and her grandkids join her....OH MY! Talk about FUN :) Just fills your heart with JOY ♥

When it came to being with my Daddy, Music was almost like an extension of him. He loved all genres: country, pop, classic rock. At one time Daddy had a TransAm. I remember driving down the highway at night, all the windows down and Billy Idol rocking out on the radio. Dad always "Played" the guitar on the steering wheel and then magically, it would become a drum and he would just bang away. We would sing our hearts out! Every now and then, my Dad would completely stop singing and look at me with this look ... then, he would say, "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY??" I would tell him the words ("I thought") I had just said. Before you know it, he began to laugh and laugh and laugh

Oh how I miss that laugh...

Then he would share the correct words to that song :) So you can only imagine that when I saw this commercial it took me back! They are such wonderful memories .... By the way, this was not a song my Dad ever shared the correct words for! Isn't it sooo funny how many people don't have a clue what he says...

Enjoy, and thanks for sharing in some of my precious memories I had as a child with my parents ♥

Is it Spring or Summer? IDK....

Happy Monday Friends! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend - I sure did! We had some amazingly warm weather! It was at least 90 degrees on Sunday. It has definitely been the topic of conversation. No matter where you go or whether you know that person beside you or walking by, you will most likely find yourself in a conversation regarding the HEAT, and it always comes with this statement.... "This is ONLY March or as of yesterday, This is only April 1st!! What happened to our Spring?"

We took advantage of the warm weather and worked in our yard. We planted 10 trees, and started clearing out an area for a new flowerbed. Working in our yard together is something my husband and I LOVE doing together! We planted some Maple trees and Dogwoods too. We are going to have to pull some stumps out sometime this week. Brian had to pull the trees down because we were afraid they were going to fall on our house or worse, our neighbors, but the stumps remained. It was quite a funny event watching him and the kids pull them down! We laughed & laughed! We have just one more tree to do and I would expect this to be just as comical.... TIMBERRRRRRRR! ;)

On another note, can you believe Easter is this weekend? A lot of the churches in our town had HUGE egg hunts this past weekend. Some even had a helicopter fly over, dropping eggs for the kids. It is pure egg chaos!!

Our church (Lifechurch.tv) just opened the doors of our new, completely paid for building. The goal to be moved in was Easter weekend but Praise the Lord, it was complete way before :)

What a special week this is...Celebrating ♥ JESUS, Our Risen Savior ♥

How will you spend your Easter weekend?

Google shut me down? HELP!

I have a question....

Has Google ever shut your blog down before?

I noticed one day, my gmail had a lot of emails that had been returned stating "Unable to deliver -or something like that. Thing is, I NEVER SENT THEM! Then it happened again! Then the following morning my Mom texted me asking why my blog was removed.... Momma say what??? Sure enough, Google had shut it down due to "suspicious activity"

I have a MAC & you know what they say.... mac's just DON'T get viruses. Well, I had to have gotten something and I have spent a lot of time over the past two days trying to figure all of this out. My honey is out of town so I am trying all of this on my own.... LOL. At least I have my blog back and my gmail as well. This is sooo not fun!

So have you ever had this happen to you? I hate to say this, BUT, I had removed the verification code (that RIDICULOUS ANNOYING and OH SUCH A PAIN) from my comment section but ever since then I have been noticing things like this. Not as big as this but still things are not right. So now I am praying I won't have to put that annoying thing back. If you have removed yours, have you had any problems with spam or malware?

Please, Let me know, and if you have any tips or suggestions, lay it on me ;)

Have a blessed Friday and a wonderful weekend my friends!

The Pastor and the Projects

So I shared with you all that we asked the kids what they would like to do for Spring Break. Both of my kids chose something that was with their dad. ** sniff sniff ** No, really I'm kidding! I LOVE it when my kids get one on one time with their daddy! It is soooo very important! Jantz wanted to go to the shooting range (which unfortunately didn't happen due to the rain- so he got a raincheck... hahaha, a raincheck- too funny! Anyways, Jenna asked to make some cupcakes from a recipe she found on Pinterest. She shared that each recipe used beer. One called for Corona and the other was a beer called Blue Moon. I have never even heard of Blue Moon before. Honestly, I didn't know how in the world making cupcakes with beer would even taste good but was willing to try them.

Soooo, I guess I should inject here that we are not drinkers. We have tried very hard to be an example to our kids. Both Brian and I grew up with alcoholic fathers and saw the damage it did to their lives and experienced first hand the damage it did to us. It was very important to us to teach our kids that you can break those generational strongholds!
So when we were getting what ingredients were needed for the cupcakes of course we had to get both kinds of beer. I didn't want to get a whole 6 pack of beer so I asked my husband if he could just stop @ one of the QuikTrip or Kum&Go stores to see if they have just one of the big bottles instead of doing a whole 6 pack. So Jenna & I sat out in the truck while Brian went into purchase the beer because it was still pouring rain outside! As we sat and talked and watched people come and go we saw our dear friend and our Pastor walking into the store....it took less than 2 seconds and both (jenna and I) were like ----- HOLY MOLY, DAD IS BUYING BEEEEERRRRR!!! We were freaking out! LOLOLOL As soon as he got in the car, we were like "OMG, did Charlie (Pastor) see you? Did he see you were buying beer???" Brian said, IDK He was in an opposite part of the store when I saw him as I was walking out." Then he looked at me and said "Honey, why are you so worried? God knows why we are buying this and we know why we are buying it, and that is all that matters! If someone is going to judge us, that is their deal. Besides, I will just tell them I just got out of rehab!" HA, sure thing babe- you do that ;)

Anyway, the cupcakes were YUMMY!!! She made them mini cupcakes and my oh my are they delicious! She & her Daddy had a great time making them together and that makes them that much better!

Well, I also wanted to do a Pinterest Project. Our oldest daughter told me to look on Pinterest for this centerpiece and when I saw it I loved it! So I set about getting the things to make it. Here is the one she suggested. I could not find any JUST ORANGE jelly beans so I chose Reese's pieces. I also didn't have a square vase like this one, but now that I've done it, I wish I would have gotten one. It would have made things soooo much easier! I got a variety of peeps and my flowers were definitely not the same. So I guess you could say I created my own version :)

My girls Krista and Jenna ended up putting this together. Let me just say this.... PEEPS are sooo not easy to work with! They are pain in my patootie! Plus they are sticky and when you pull them apart they lose their color in spots.
It was quite the task but they conquered it and had fun while they did it! I haven't had the heart to tell them I totally ruined it the following day when I went to put more water into the tiny cup holding the flowers. I spilled water into the vase instead of into the cup. Within minutes all the reeses pieces were losing their color, the peeps were even more droopy than before! I was crushed. But had no choice but to take it apart and just ended up putting only the flowers back in the vase. The peeps had turned to mush, and there was noooo way to salvage the reeses. ***SIGH***

Oh well, we will have fond memories of the Peepin Pinterest project gone k-Put! :)

Have you done any projects from Pinterest and have them not workout?? What about cooking a recipe from there? Was it good or just plain awful???

Flooding, Tornadoes, and Pinterest... OH MY

Spring Break 2012 hasn't just come and gone~ it FLEW BY! My husband surprised me and had taken the week off as well! We were all so excited! Jenna was home from college and our first weekend was absolutely Gorgeous! We had Sunshine and temps in the 80's. It was heavenly! The Spring Break forecast showed it to be raining on Mon-Wed. My oh My, did it ever rain! Our town even made the National news for the amount of rain we had received so far. The rain also brought MUCH cooler temps! Monday through Friday was rainy and cold and then Saturday comes and viola' it was 80 degrees and Sunny! While we would have loved to have a week of Sunshine, honestly, we enjoyed the rain and just chilaxxing :)

We rearranged some of our plans and when the rain appeared to finally be tapering off, we decided to go visit our new outlet mall in OKC. When we got there it was the first time we had seen the sun in 4 days! It was awesome! We shopped for a little over an hour and then all of the sudden we hear thunder and very heavy rain!! Soon after, it had tapered off some, so we went on about our shopping. Going from one store to another I happened to looked up at the sky and would you believe I saw a TORNADO FUNNEL!?!?!? People began gathering as they too saw the funnel. I looked over and saw ANOTHER FUNNEL!! The joke about Okie's is we are the only people who take their video phones or cameras out when we see a tornado funnel! I should have taken a pic of everyone taking pics huh! It was too funny!

These guys never touched down, Praise the Lord! These pics really don't do them justice either!

Can't you just hear the Wizard of OZ music when the Witch is on her bike..... hee hee!

We had asked the kids what they would like to do over the break and Jenna had asked to make some cupcakes with her Dad. She found a couple of recipes on Pinterest and really wanted to try them out. I had also seen something on Pinterest that I was hoping to try~ but that is for another day! :)

Hope you all had a GREAT WEEK!

Asking for Prayers

Today will be a very sad day. Today, my husband and I will be driving to Kansas to attend a funeral. My husband is the Regional Manager for Oklahoma and last Saturday he received one of those phone calls that you hope never comes, and when it does, you will never EVER forget it.

His Store Manager called crying hysterically and attempting to form words - words that she could not believe she was having to say - "My husband is gone. He died in his sleep last night." Brian could not believe the words he was hearing. How could this young man (41 years of age) be gone??

He had a heart attack and died in his sleep. Their 12 year old daughter found him when she went in to check and see why he wasn't up yet.

Please pray for this family. I am so thankful they are believers! The Lord knows what each one of them is going through right now and how to perfectly minister to them.

Thank you all for lifting them up. The wife's name is April and their daughter is Lilly. Both of his parents are still alive and no doubt are having a difficult time as well. April just recently lost her Father and Brother as well. She has really been hit with so much! So your prayers would mean sooo very much to her!

Bless you all! May you have a peace filled weekend!

A Silent Movie? Really?

I've shared with you all that my Mom retired in February. It has been such a TREAT spending time with her whenever our hearts desire :) Our most recent adventure was soooo cool! My Mom called and asked if I wanted to go see the movie titled, "The Artist?" I was like, "Huh? I haven't even heard of that movie?" Sooo, I looked it up & Here is what I found

Wasn't I surprised to find it was a SILENT MOVIE! Hmmm, will that be good? I've never gone to a silent move but I certainly thought it looked like it would be awesome! On top of it being a silent movie, I also found out it was showing at a cinema that has been around FOR-EVER!!! I HONESTLY had NO IDEA what to expect ... We found a time that would work best for both of us and set our date.

As we walked in, I was just in awe! The history this building held was incredible. On a practical side - OMG it was the CLEANEST movie cinema I have ever seen!!! Mom & I were the only ones there so we had some time to look around and I found out a lot of the cinema had been recently restored. Just some of the restoration we were able to see was the New seats, carpet, and even the BIG screen. Just before the movie begins, an employee comes in and pulls these HUGE velvet curtains just to the edge of the screen, where the movie will be playing. It was so neat!

Two precious older ladies came in and sat down at the first row of seats they reached, just minutes before the movie started. They were so cute :)

Finally, it was time for the movie! Can I just say... HOW AWESOME this Movie is!! I felt like I was transported into the 1920's! The Artist was full of romance, entertainment, and some amazing dancing!!

♥ Thank you Momma ~ for taking us out of our box and on such a neat adventure!! It was such a treat ~ spending time w/YOU is a treat - no matter what we do I just cherish every minute! ♥

Do you BOSU?

I have a question.... Do you BOSU? This thing shown in the picture above is called a BOSU Ball. It is for exercising your core mostly, but will be beneficial in other areas too. My husband has been having some lower back problems and his MRI showed some discs issues. His dr. told him to start strengthening his core. The BOSU Ball is EXCELLENT for doing just that!

I decided to try it this weekend and WOW...It is so hard! Trying to stay balanced is a workout in itself LOL I kind of got the hang of it on a couple of specific exercises and enjoyed it! It is very gentle on your knees, which is nice!
For those who love to run, but it hurts your knees, this is a great alternative. While you can't go running on it, trust me, there are enough exercises you can choose from that will burn some serious calories just like running does!

If you want some cheap entertainment, this is sure to give you some laughs! Watching me, especially, trying to just get my balance is hilarious! I have some serious balance issues I guess! But they tell you to keep your eyes focused on one target but if they know personality types - they should know that a Sanguine JUST MIGHT NOT be able to accomplish this ;) but if we put our minds to it, it might possibly, just maybe, a tad better!HA HA :)

I Hope everyone had a great weekend :) I am excited to share some pictures from over the weekend with you guys!
Happy Monday my sweet friends!

How very Egg-citing!

My Stepdad is a Builder/Real Estate Agent. He builds some of the most beautiful houses I have ever seen. One day last week, one of his contractors was talking to him and said he needed to go home but before he left, he asked my Stepdad if he wanted any farm fresh eggs. My Stepdad said YES! Well, little did he know he would be bringing about 50+ eggs to him. Sooo, my Mom asked me if I wanted some, to which I replied...YES!!!

I brought the eggs home and sat them on the counter is a basket. My husband asked me continually if we needed to put them in the fridge. I didn't think so but wanted to make sure so I called my mom. She had wondered the very thing so she pulled up the internet and read up on it! She said we were fine to leave them out on the counter. So we did.

Then when I shared what Mom had told me, my husband got on the Internet and read up on Farm Fresh eggs. We had so much fun learning about these eggs. If you fill a bowl up with water and then drop the egg gently, it will either sink to the bottom and then turn on its side which means it is a fresh egg. If the egg floats it is a rotten egg.

Then we compared the egg yolk color as well as the egg white with a "Brand name egg". All I can say is WOW! The egg yolk from the farm fresh egg was absolutely beautiful- a rich golden yellow and the egg white was really clear compared to the slightly cloudy egg white of the store bought egg. This is caused by what type of diet they are on.

Next came cooking and tasting! Yummy. The taste was even better than I thought it could be! I even made a batch of chocolate chip cookies and they are seriously the BEST cookies I have ever made!!

So to sum this up....I will be buying farm fresh egs from now on! If I can find him! :)

What about you? Which eggs do you prefer?? Did you enjoy your Egg Lesson today ;)

Would You Rather?

My Son is, and always has been, a young man who LOVES to learn! Whether it is learning in school all day or learning about people and what their interests are, he loves it! He is a lot like me, in that, he rarely meets a stranger :)
I just love to watch and observe how he relates to people as he listens intently to them. Even if he is just with us, or other close family members, he will ask various questions, and honestly, loves to hear your reply.

Some of his questions might ask:

What was your high today? AND/OR What was your low today?

OR

You just might hear the words:

"Would You Rather?" followed by 2 scenarios that in all honesty, I would rather NOT do either one LOLOL ;)

OR

There are those times when he will ask:

All about my past, or how it was when I met and started dating his Daddy!

I know my time with him is going by far too quickly. In less than 6 months he will get his permit and start driving. Right now, he is definitely a homebody, but I know there is always that possibility this could change. Well, I thought it would be fun to turn the questions back to him! I decided just to check and see what kind of questions there were on the "Would You Rather" subject. These questions have to be the ones his sisters and myself, enjoy the least. Don't worry, we haven't ever said anything like "Oh my gosh, Stop asking these questions?" Nooo! We are ALWAYS very willing to give him an answer ... NOT! :)

Anyway, Here are some funny ones I found:

Would you rather eat a stick of butter or snort a tablespoon of salt?

Would you rather have your flight delayed by 8 hours or lose your luggage?

Would you rather lick someone else's armpit or have someone else lick your armpit?

Would you rather drink a cup of spoiled milk or pee your pants in public?

Would you rather go to jail for a year or live in your car for a year?

They make for great conversation don't they ??? :) It's was great to hear what he had to say! Now then, You guys tell me what your answers would be ok?? One, two, Ready....GO!!!

Those Proud Moments and Those, well....maybe not so proud ;)

My Mom and I drove up to Stillwater on Friday to see Jen and spend the day with her. We went out to lunch and walked around downtown and shopped in some really cute stores. We found a cute little bakery with the most UH MA ZING
Cupcakes! We sat down on these little barstools in front of the BIG WINDOW that looked out onto the downtown streets. We just talked, laughed, and people watched, while we enjoyed our treats! It was a special moment shared by three generations. I treasure these days the Lord has given us more than words can say! We are all so proud of Jenna and what an amazing job she has done and continues to do each day!

Saturday we had our grand babies come to stay the night. Our little Diva, Rylee, was her usual self, full of spit & vinegar! Cracking us up and just leaving us asking "Where does she get this stuff?" Bentley is such a mess and a VERY VERY STRONG WILLED little boy! He also had us in stitches with his silly faces. I tried so hard to get a picture of just one of those looks he gives but every single time my camera was about to snap the picture the flash would blink and he would go from silly to absolute confusion on his face.... LOL So, if you want to see that ~ I've got plenty of confused looks! HAHA

One of my favorite things to watch is how much fun these two have together. How they make each other laugh and how so very sweet Rylee is towards her baby brother. I have always heard that having children 2 yrs. apart is the PERFECT age. Spending time with my grand babies definitely confirms that for me. It makes me so proud seeing our daughter do such an amazing job as a mother and how they love and care for one another in their family.

So, you may be wondering what might be the "Not so proud" moment.... Oh gosh, It really isn't fair to label it "not proud" but maybe something like "Totally embarrassing" or how about "Kids say the darndest things" because after you hear this, saying "Kids will just tell it like it is" isn't what any of us want to hear.

Ok, so first just imagine when your kids were little and potty trained. Little girls have those oh so cute and extremely TINY little panties with Disney characters, or Barney, maybe Blues clues - gosh, I am showing my age here ;)
Let me just point out once more how TINY those cute little panties are ok! Well so, Ry and I are getting dressed for the day and the past few times she's come, she has gotten to choose what I wear. So I handed her her TINY little undies and she asked what mine had on them (LOL and NO I don't wear Disney undies or anything close to it) I explained NoNi didn't have stuff "On mine" but she could certainly choose the color of undies I would wear. So as I begin showing her some of my options, her eyes get real big and she says "Wow NoNi ~ Those are BIG" hahahahahahaha Isn't she just PRECIOUS.... Yes, sweetheart when you compare them to your Princess Panties they are definitely much bigger! Oh ya, and Thanks - I just might need to add on a third workout to go with the two I do each day! Ha :) just kidding
I haven't let it bother me much (Only locked myself in the bathroom and cried for an hour) the words just keep going over and over in my mind (WOW those are BIG) (BIG) Really? Couldn't she have said WOW, those are PRETTY or Wow, those are soft...Did she have to say B-I-G???

Really, I took it all in stride and laughed it off like any good NoNi would do! Right? Right!
Lord knows, it won't be the last time a grandchild of mine says something like that! The great thing is.... You can just look them in the eye, pick them up and squeeze them with all the love you have in you, knowing what a blessed gift it is you've been given!!

Can Someone Help Me? I thought it was winter time???

Our Flowers are blooming, lawn mowers are going?? Is this really Winter time??

Has your weather been as crazy as ours?? I am certainly NOT complaining though!! Not at all! We have had such beautiful and warm sunshiny days! On Tuesday my husband had to actually MOW! In February!! Now that is just crazy isn't it!
Yesterday I went out to check on all the bulbs I planted last fall. I had on a sleeveless shirt and capri's and was sweating ~ It was in the upper 7o's! Did I mention this was February?? Now it's March and today we will be in the 50's.
But not for long we will be moving back up in the 60's and 70's by Monday!!

I LOVE being able to work out in our yard so this truly is Heavenly! I am so glad that while the weather turned back to the 50's my Mom and I will be going to spend the day with Jenna @OSU! She is doing just awesome! Her GPA for the 1st semester was Excellent! We are all so very proud of her! She is meeting some new friends and even talking about going to study abroad someday! Isn't it just amazing all of the opportunities the Lord allows!

We will have our grand babies this weekend! ♥ I can hardly wait ♥

What will you be doing this weekend? Whatever it is I pray it is blessed!
Love to you all!!!
xoxo

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I love ya Tomorrow! :)

Well, GAHHHHLY It is soooo good to be back! I seriously had no intention of taking a 6 week break, but it seemed every night I would sit down and get my laptop @ midnight and I was just pooped! I kept telling myself I would do it tomorrow and then again tomorrow. Well, apparently this "tomorrow" has been a success, because I am here and posting!!! :) WOOHOO

I spent a lot of February being quite crafty! I LOVED it. I made some heart shaped wreaths and then my husband and I started making really cute headbands! We have spent some serious time in Hobby Lobby together picking out the ribbons for the headbands. They are great for when I workout because they don't slip or cause headaches after wearing them a while!

This is the one for my front door

I made this one for a friend

This one I made for my Mom

I will have to take some pics of the headbands and post them! They are soooo cute you guys!

My Son started working out as soon as he gets out of school and wanted us to workout together. I had been thinking about doing 2 workouts a day but when he asked me to join him there wasn't anyway I was going to say no. It has been really good and we have a great time challenging one another. My only trouble has been that my weight has stayed the same. After 4 weeks of the same weight, I was told to up my protein and that my body was holding onto everything it could. So I am trying to do that as well as, eating small meals every 2-3 hrs.

I just got a SlimCoach! It is the Biggest Loser's device that helps you track calories in/out, heart rate, diet plans and if you have met your daily goal as far as activity. I set it up tonite and it looks awesome! I am hoping to lose that final 15 lbs!!!

Speaking of losing things.... One of my dear bloggy friends shared her frustration about the word verification box. I had just decided I needed to lose that annoying thing and then after reading her post I knew it was a goner!!
Ahhh. Feels so good to rid yourself of those letters no one could read and wasting your time trying to figure it out every single time!! ;)
Anyway, it should be gone! and if it isn't PLEASE let me know!!

Nope, you are NOT seeing things!

Your morning cup o'joe was NOT De-Caf and NO, it wasn't spiked either..... :) You ARE reading a current edition of
"The MAGOOS News!"

Our sources tell us that the Author will be returning tomorrow after an extended blog Break ~ She has been quite busy,

and while she did have lots of fun while she was away, she has shared with us how much she has missed you all and is so

excited to catch up with each one of you!!!

Here's a quick peek into what's she's been up to:

This Sweet little boy turned 1!! He is walking everywhere, and keeps everyone laughing with his silly facial expressions ♥

Her Momma had a birthday AND has also RETIRED! (Can you say HALLELUAH!!!) They have been spotted around town having lunch, taking road trips, and of course shopping. A few of the shopping trips have proved to be quite humorous and sources say they were seen and heard laughing uncontrollably in a local dressing room - This, is definitely something we will have to hear more about, don't you think??

Her Son also had a birthday and turned 15 years old! (I don't know about you but that is ALOT of birthdays!!) She is forever saying how she would love to slow down the hands of time! (wouldn't we all) Over this past weekend her son attended his 8th grade formal. Rumor has it boys can keep you guessing until the very day of formal as to what exactly their plans will be. Which just might explain the crazy expression on her face in this picture! ;)

Of course she loves being a Noni! So anytime she and Papa spend time with these two it's full of joy, and lots and lots of laughter!! (seriously, who couldn't resist a face like this..... ?)

She was given a surprise gift from her Dear Husband on Valentines Day.... Tickets to see Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson Immortal Tour. She really can't wait to share this story with everyone!

As I said earlier, she truly has missed everyone and will be thrilled to hear from you!
